Our History
In
2005, Ben & Emily Totanes the founders of Taxi 4 Kids, realized that
their own struggle to balance their children's schedules with their own
was a widespread problem today. Inspired by children's commuter services
starting up around the country, they knew they could create a
convenient, safe and reliable resource for busy parents.
Ben & Emily Totanes
are 6-year residents of Tracy, CA in San Joaquin County. Before Tracy,
Ben lived in San Jose, CA beginning in 1984 when he moved from the
Philippines. Ben's professional background
covers 20 years of sales & marketing, management, customer service and
training. Emily is also a native of the Philippines and a former
San Jose resident as well. She is a manager in the semiconductor
industry and bring more than 13 years experience coordinating and
tracking projects, and is a capable office manager.
Over the years,
Ben and Emily discussed owning some type of business. In the spring of
2005, they were unable to transport their 11-year old daughter to an
after school activity due to a previous commitment. The idea for the
children's transportation service was born.
Ben and Emily's
sales, marketing and management background along with the care and
commitment to the Tracy area will enable them to provide
parents with the comfort of knowing that their children will be shuttled
in safe vehicles by licensed, screened and insured drivers.
Ben, Emily and
their two children currently live in a modest 5-bedroom house in Tracy,
CA and are active members of St. Bernard's parish. The entire
family sings with the choir at the 4PM Sunday mass.
